Gylan (Solvent) Instructions for Use

Therapeutic Category

A medical device for moisturizing and protecting the ocular mucosa.

Properties

It is a moisturizing ophthalmic agent. It is an isotonic (pH 6.0-7.5) buffered sterile solution containing hyaluronic acid in the form of sodium hyaluronate, which is a natural moisturizing substance with a high capacity for binding water.

Sodium hyaluronate has a smaller molecular size compared to hyaluronic acid, which allows the substance to penetrate tissues more easily and ensures the formation of a uniform, stable, and durable protective layer on the cornea without affecting visual acuity.

Hyaluronic acid (in the form of its sodium salt) possesses the necessary viscosity and adhesive properties towards the cornea. Due to these properties of hyaluronic acid, when the product is instilled into the eyes, a thin film forms on the anterior surface of the cornea, protecting the eye from drying out and relieving sensations of discomfort, dryness, fatigue, burning, and eye irritation. It effectively moisturizes and restores the healthy condition of the eye surface – the cornea and conjunctiva.

Scope of Application

For intensive and long-term eye moisturization in dry eye syndrome (with symptoms of discomfort, dryness, foreign body sensation – “sand in the eyes”, burning, irritation); when wearing all types of contact lenses to eliminate discomfort; after ophthalmic surgical operations, as well as in cases of corneal damage and injuries.
