Pharmacological Action

A herbal preparation; exerts choleretic, cholekinetic, choleretic, anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, spasmolytic, and wound-healing effects. It enhances bile secretion and increases the bilirubin content in it, increases the tone of the gallbladder and promotes bile outflow.

It has a relaxing effect on the smooth muscles of the gallbladder sphincters and biliary tract, changes the viscosity and chemical composition of bile.

By stimulating gastric juice secretion and slowing the evacuation function of the stomach and intestines, it promotes better digestion of food. It activates the exocrine activity of the pancreas; dilates the blood vessels of the intestines.

By promoting the excretion of cholesterol with bile, it exerts a hypocholesterolemic effect; possesses antibacterial activity against gram-positive bacteria, increases the activity of metronidazole and aminoquinol in the treatment of giardiasis.

It stimulates regenerative processes in eye tissues.

Indications

Oral

Hepatitis (including viral); chronic non-calculous cholecystitis; hepatocholecystitis; biliary dyskinesia; cholangitis; postcholecystectomy syndrome.

As part of combination therapy

Obesity; diabetes mellitus; giardiasis.

Topical

Eye burns (chemical and thermal); erosions, corneal ulcers of various etiologies.

Dosage Regimen

Herbal raw material

As a powder for oral administration – 1 g 3 times a day for 2-3 weeks; if necessary, the course of treatment is repeated after 5 days.

As granules for the preparation of an oral suspension – 30 minutes before meals 3 times a day. Children from 1 month to 1 year – 13.5 mg/day (7.5 ml of suspension), 1-3 years – 27 mg/day (15 ml), 4-5 years – 40.5 mg/day (22.5 ml), over 5 years – 54 mg (30 ml). The course of treatment is 10-40 days. To prepare the suspension, add freshly boiled and cooled to room temperature water (up to the 100 ml mark) to the contents of the jar (18.4 g) and shake until the granules are completely dissolved.

As a decoction – 15-30 ml 3-4 times a day 10-15 minutes before meals; to prepare the decoction, 10 g is poured with 200 ml of water at room temperature and heated in a boiling water bath with frequent stirring for 30 minutes, cooled for 10 minutes; strain, squeeze and add boiled water to the original volume.

Topically – the ointment is placed behind the lower eyelid 3-4 times a day for 6-8 days.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity; cholelithiasis.

Pediatric Use

Use is possible according to the dosing regimen.

Drug Interactions

Increases the activity of metronidazole and aminoquinol in the treatment of giardiasis.

Storage Conditions
