An infusion of hibiscus flowers helps to improve appetite and exerts a choleretic effect.

Indications

Use the infusion for the following conditions:

  • As a therapeutic agent to increase appetite.
  • As a choleretic agent to stimulate bile production and flow.

Dosage Regimen

The method of application and dosage regimen for a specific drug depend on its form of release and other factors. The optimal dosage regimen is determined by the doctor. It is necessary to strictly adhere to the compliance of the dosage form of a specific drug with the indications for use and dosage regimen.

Prepare the infusion by placing one filter bag (1.5g) in a glass or enamelware, pouring 200 ml of boiling water over it, covering with a lid, and infusing for 25 minutes. Squeeze the filter bag thoroughly after infusion.

Administer one-half glass of the prepared infusion orally three times daily, 30 minutes before meals. Continue this treatment course for a duration of 2 to 3 weeks. Shake the infusion well before each use to ensure uniformity.

Adverse Reactions

Monitor for potential allergic reactions, which may include skin rash, itching, or urticaria. Discontinue use immediately and seek medical attention if any signs of hypersensitivity occur.

Contraindications

Do not use this preparation in the following conditions:

  • Known hypersensitivity to hibiscus flowers or any components of the drug.
  • Patients with increased acidity of gastric juice, gastritis, duodenitis, or peptic ulcer of the stomach and duodenum.
  • Children under 12 years of age due to lack of safety and efficacy data in this population.

Drug Interactions

Overdose

No specific antidote is known. In case of suspected overdose, discontinue use immediately and initiate symptomatic and supportive treatment. Gastric lavage may be considered if a large quantity has been ingested recently.

Use in Pregnancy and Lactation

Use during pregnancy and breastfeeding is possible if the expected benefit to the mother outweighs the risk to the fetus and child. It is necessary to consult with the attending physician.

Pediatric Use

Contraindicated in children under 12 years of age.

Storage Conditions

Store in a dry place, protected from light. Keep out of reach of children. The infusion – in a cool place for no more than 2 days.

Shelf Life

The shelf life is 2 years. Do not use the drug after the expiration date printed on the package.
