Antiviral drug, possesses anti-inflammatory, immunostimulatory, and interferon-inducing action.

The greatest activity is exhibited against the tick-borne encephalitis virus.

Indications

Tick-borne encephalitis (treatment and prevention in adults).

Dosage Regimen

The method of application and dosage regimen for a specific drug depend on its form of release and other factors. The optimal dosage regimen is determined by the doctor. It is necessary to strictly adhere to the compliance of the dosage form of a specific drug with the indications for use and dosage regimen.

Tablets

Orally, after meals. For the treatment of tick-borne encephalitis: in the first 2 days – 0.3 g 3 times/day; on the third and fourth days – 0.2 g 3 times/day; in the subsequent 5 days – 0.1 g 3 times/day.

For prevention, in case of a tick bite, according to the same regimen as for treatment; in cases of possible tick bites – 0.2 g for the entire period of stay in places associated with the risk of tick-borne encephalitis infection. Iodantipyrin® is also prescribed at 0.2 g 3 times/day for 2 days before visiting places associated with the possibility of tick bites. For focal forms of tick-borne encephalitis, specific Ig is initially prescribed according to the standard regimen, and after 2-3 days, the drug is prescribed according to the above-mentioned regimen. Iodantipyrin and anti-tick Ig are not used together.

Adverse Reactions

Allergic reactions. Edema. Nausea.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity; hyperfunction of the thyroid gland.

Storage Conditions

Store at 2°C (36°F) to 25°C (77°F). Keep in original packaging, protected from light. Keep out of reach of children.
