Dietary supplement – source of magnesium

Properties

Magnesium is a vital element with numerous beneficial properties. It is involved in more than 300 different metabolic processes – mainly related to energy production or consumption. Magnesium is one of the enzyme activators, enhancing their action.

It affects neuromuscular excitability and heart function, has a cardioprotective effect, participates in the regulation of blood pressure, reduces cholesterol levels in the blood, and prevents the formation of kidney stones. Magnesium plays an important role in energy metabolism, bone tissue formation, and maintaining electrolyte balance.

Magnesium is an anti-stress element. Its deficiency causes disturbances in metabolic processes, leads to physiological and psychological tension, and reduces resistance to stress. Symptoms of stress often coincide with symptoms of magnesium deficiency, namely: – headaches; – depression; – increased blood pressure; – tingling in different parts of the body, a feeling of “pins and needles”; – irritability; – palpitations; – vascular spasms; – smooth muscle spasms; – muscle cramps; – nausea, vomiting; – deterioration of memory and attention. A balanced level of magnesium in the body is an important condition for well-being and performance.

Physical exertion also requires Magnesium. On one hand, increased muscle work requires additional energy, on the other hand, increased sweating leads to greater magnesium losses. The need for it increases during periods of intensive growth in adolescents, during stress and physical exertion, with an unbalanced diet and reduced appetite. Our body cannot produce Magnesium on its own, so additional intake in the diet is required.
