Pharmacological Action

An antiseptic agent from the oxidants group. It also has a hemostatic effect.

When hydrogen peroxide comes into contact with damaged skin and mucous membranes, active oxygen is released, resulting in mechanical cleansing and inactivation of organic substances (proteins, blood, pus).

The antiseptic effect of hydrogen peroxide is not sterilizing; its use only leads to a temporary reduction in the number of microorganisms.

Indications

Inflammatory diseases of the mucous membranes, purulent wounds, capillary bleeding from superficial wounds, nosebleeds.

For disinfection and deodorization: stomatitis, tonsillitis, gynecological diseases.

Dosage Regimen

Use externally and topically only.

Select the concentration and method based on the specific indication being treated.

For treating superficial wounds, abrasions, and capillary bleeding apply a 3% solution directly to the affected area using a sterile gauze pad or swab.

For managing nosebleeds (epistaxis), instill the 3% solution into the nasal cavity; tilt the head forward to prevent swallowing.

For inflammatory conditions of the oral cavity and throat, including stomatitis and tonsillitis, use only a 0.25% solution for rinsing or gargling.

Prepare the 0.25% rinsing solution immediately before use by diluting the product; do not store the diluted solution.

For gynecological applications, use the solution for irrigation or washing as directed by a physician.

Apply the solution 2-3 times per day unless otherwise prescribed.

Avoid contact with eyes; if contact occurs, rinse thoroughly with water.

Discontinue use and consult a physician if excessive irritation, redness, or signs of an allergic reaction develop.

Adverse Reactions

A burning sensation at the moment of wound treatment is possible; in some cases – allergic reactions.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to hydrogen peroxide.

Use in Pregnancy and Lactation

It can be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding according to indications, in recommended doses.

Special Precautions

Do not use for irrigation of body cavities.

It is not recommended to use the agent under occlusive dressings.

Drug Interactions

Hydrogen peroxide solution is unstable in an alkaline environment, in the presence of metal salts, complex radicals of some oxidants, as well as in light and heat.

Storage Conditions

Store at 8°C (46°F) to 15°C (59°F). Keep in original packaging, protected from light. Keep out of reach of children.
