Eye drops as a transparent, colorless or slightly colored solution.

Excipients: dextrose monohydrate – 55 mg, polysorbate 80 – 0.25 mg, 1M hydrochloric acid solution or 1M sodium hydroxide solution – to adjust pH to 3.5-7.5, water for injections – up to 1 ml.

Pharmacological Action
Antimicrobial agent for use in ophthalmology, a derivative of biguanides. It has an antiseptic effect.
Picloxydine is active against Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus faecalis, Escherichia coli, Eberthella typhosa, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Proteus vulgaris, Shigella dysenteriae, Bacillus subtilis, Chlamydia trachomatis, some viruses and fungi.
Pharmacokinetics
With topical application, the systemic absorption of picloxydine is low.
Indications
Bacterial infections of the anterior segment of the eye, dacryocystitis; prevention of infectious complications in the postoperative period after surgical interventions in the area of the anterior segment of the eye.

Dosage Regimen
| The method of application and dosage regimen for a specific drug depend on its form of release and other factors. The optimal dosage regimen is determined by the doctor. It is necessary to strictly adhere to the compliance of the dosage form of a specific drug with the indications for use and dosage regimen. |
Use topically for ophthalmic infections and postoperative prophylaxis.
For treatment of active bacterial infections of the anterior eye segment: instill one to two drops into the affected eye(s).
Apply the drops two to six times daily.
The exact frequency is determined by the physician based on infection severity.
For postoperative prophylaxis after anterior segment surgery: instill one to two drops into the operated eye.
Apply two to four times daily.
Follow the specific regimen and duration prescribed by the surgeon.
For pediatric patients (from 0 years of age), use the same dosage as for adults.
Administer only under adult supervision.
Before use, wash hands thoroughly.
Avoid letting the dropper tip contact the eye, eyelids, or any other surface to prevent contamination of the solution.
If using other topical ophthalmic agents, maintain an interval of at least 15 minutes between instillations.
After instillation, press a finger to the inner corner of the eye (lacrimal sac) for two minutes to reduce systemic absorption.
Do not use the solution if it becomes cloudy or discolored.
Do not use for subconjunctival injection or intracameral administration.
Adverse Reactions
Possible development of allergic reactions, manifested by conjunctival hyperemia.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to picloxydine.
Use in Pregnancy and Lactation
Use during pregnancy and breastfeeding is not recommended.
Pediatric Use
Can be used in children from 0 years of age according to indications.
Special Precautions
If other medicinal products in the form of eye drops are used along with picloxydine, it is necessary that the interval between their instillations is at least 15 minutes.
To prevent picloxydine from entering the systemic circulation through the nasal mucosa, it is recommended to press a finger on the inner corner of the eye for 2 minutes after instillation.
Picloxydine must not be used for subconjunctival injections or for introduction into the anterior chamber of the eye.
Effect on the ability to drive vehicles and mechanisms
After application of picloxydine, temporary blurred vision is possible. If such symptoms occur, the patient must wait for complete restoration of visual clarity before driving vehicles or operating machinery.
Storage Conditions
Store at 2°C (36°F) to 25°C (77°F). Keep in original packaging, protected from light. Keep out of reach of children.
