Dosage Regimen
| The method of application and dosage regimen for a specific drug depend on its form of release and other factors. The optimal dosage regimen is determined by the doctor. It is necessary to strictly adhere to the compliance of the dosage form of a specific drug with the indications for use and dosage regimen. |
Administer orally. The specific dose and duration are determined by the indication and patient age.
For ascariasis, a single daily dose for 2 consecutive days is typical. For enterobiasis, treatment cycles may be repeated after a 7-day interval.
Follow the prescribed schedule precisely. Tablets are usually taken once daily, with or without food. Adhere to the complete course of therapy even if symptoms improve.
Tablets
For oral administration. The dose, regimen, and duration of therapy are determined individually, depending on the indications, the patient’s age, and the dosage form used.
Adverse Reactions
Gastrointestinal disturbances such as nausea, vomiting, and abdominal pain may occur. Neurological effects like headache and dizziness are also possible.
In patients with pre-existing renal impairment, severe neurotoxicity can develop, manifesting as muscle weakness, tremor, ataxia, visual disturbances, and hallucinations.
Discontinue use and seek medical attention if severe or persistent adverse reactions occur. Allergic skin reactions are also possible.
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to piperazine adipate or any component of the formulation.
- Presence of organic diseases of the central nervous system.

- Children under 3 years of age for specific dosage forms.
Do not administer to patients with a history of seizures or epilepsy. Avoid use in individuals with severe hepatic impairment.
Drug Interactions
Concomitant use with chlorpromazine and other phenothiazines is contraindicated due to the risk of potentiating extrapyramidal effects and seizures.
Exercise caution with other neuroactive drugs, such as pyrantel pamoate, as concurrent use may antagonize the anthelmintic effect. Inform your physician of all concomitant medications.
Overdose
Symptoms of overdose are primarily neurological and may include nausea, vomiting, tremor, muscle weakness, ataxia, and visual hallucinations. Severe intoxication can lead to respiratory depression and seizures.
Treatment is symptomatic and supportive. There is no specific antidote. Gastric lavage may be considered. In cases of renal impairment, dialysis may be effective due to the drug’s renal excretion.
Use in Pregnancy and Lactation
Contraindicated for use during pregnancy and lactation (breastfeeding).
Use in Renal Impairment
Contraindicated in chronic renal failure.
Pediatric Use
Use in children is possible according to indications, in age-appropriate recommended doses and dosage forms.
