Pharmacological Action

An agent of plant origin. It contains essential oils (main components – alpha-thujone, beta-thujone, 1,8-cineole, camphor, borneol, isobutyl acetate, camphene, linalool, alpha- and beta-pinene, viridiflorol, alpha- and beta-caryophyllene); caffeic acid and its derivatives (rosmarinic acid, chlorogenic acid); diterpenes (main components – carnosolic acid, rosmanol, saphysinolid); flavonoids (including apigenin- and luteolin-7-glucosides, a number of methylated aglycons, including genkwanin, genkwanin-6-methyl ether; triterpenes (main component – ursolic acid).

Salvia has antibacterial, fungistatic, virostatic, astringent, secretolytic action, and helps to reduce sweating.

Indications

As part of combination therapy for inflammatory diseases of the oral cavity, pharynx, and larynx.

Dosage Regimen

The method of application and dosage regimen for a specific drug depend on its form of release and other factors. The optimal dosage regimen is determined by the doctor. It is necessary to strictly adhere to the compliance of the dosage form of a specific drug with the indications for use and dosage regimen.

Herbal raw material

About 10 g (3 tablespoons) of the crushed raw material is placed in an enamel bowl, poured with 200 ml (1 glass) of boiling water, covered with a lid and heated in a boiling water bath for 15 minutes, cooled at room temperature for 45 minutes, filtered, and the remaining raw material is squeezed out. The volume of the resulting infusion is adjusted to 200 ml with boiled water.

It is used topically for gargling with 1/2-1 glass of the infusion 3-5 times a day in a warm form. The course of treatment is 1-2 weeks.

Before use, the infusion is recommended to be shaken.

Hypersensitivity to the herb; children under 12 years of age.

Use in Pregnancy and Lactation

During pregnancy and breastfeeding, it can be used according to indications after consultation with a doctor, in cases where the intended benefit to the mother outweighs the potential risk to the fetus or infant.

Pediatric Use

Contraindicated for use in children under 12 years of age.

Special Precautions

The prepared infusion should be stored in a cool place for no more than 2 days.

Storage Conditions

Store at 2°C (36°F) to 25°C (77°F). Keep in original packaging, protected from light. Keep out of reach of children.
