Dosage Form

Bottle OTC Icon Salvisar® Ointment for external use: 15 g, 25 g, 40 g, 50 g, 75 g, or 100 g tubes 1 pc., 25 g tubes 2 pcs.

Dosage Form, Packaging, and Composition

Ointment for external use white or white with a slightly yellowish tint with the smell of camphor and turpentine.

Vipera berus venom 5 IU
Salicylic acid 1 g
Synthetic camphor 3 g
Turpentine gum 3 g

Excipients: Emulsifier No. 1 (Lanette SX) – 8 g, hard paraffin – 3 g, medical vaseline – 7 g, glycerol (glycerin) – 2 g, sodium chloride isotonic 0.9% infusion solution – 8 g, water for injections – up to 100 g.

15 g – tubes made of combined material (1) – cardboard packs.

Pharmacological Action

It causes irritation of the sensitive receptors of the skin and subcutaneous tissue, dilates blood vessels, and improves tissue trophism.

It has a locally irritating and analgesic effect.

Indications

Diseases of the musculoskeletal system and peripheral nervous system accompanied by pain syndrome, including: arthralgia; neuralgia; myalgia; sciatica; radiculitis.

Dosage Regimen

The method of application and dosage regimen for a specific drug depend on its form of release and other factors. The optimal dosage regimen is determined by the doctor. It is necessary to strictly adhere to the compliance of the dosage form of a specific drug with the indications for use and dosage regimen.

Apply the ointment externally only.

Use on intact skin over the area of pain.

Apply a thin layer of ointment to the affected area and rub it in thoroughly.

Use the ointment once daily.

For severe pain, apply and rub in twice daily.

Continue application until the pain subsides.

Do not use for more than 10 days without consulting a physician.

Wash hands immediately after each application.

Avoid contact with eyes, mucous membranes, and open wounds.

Discontinue use and seek medical advice if skin irritation or an allergic reaction occurs.

Adverse Reactions

In isolated cases skin allergic reactions.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to this combination; skin diseases (including those of allergic and bacterial origin); active pulmonary tuberculosis; febrile conditions; general exhaustion; severe insufficiency of cerebral and coronary circulation; tendency to angiospasm; severe hepatic or renal failure; pregnancy; lactation period.

Use in Pregnancy and Lactation

The use of the drug is contraindicated during pregnancy and lactation.

Use in Hepatic Impairment

Contraindication — severe hepatic failure.

Use in Renal Impairment

Contraindication — severe renal failure.

Special Precautions

After use, you should wash your hands thoroughly and avoid contact with eyes, as well as open wounds and mucous membranes.

Storage Conditions

Store at 2°C (36°F) to 25°C (77°F). Keep in original packaging, protected from light. Keep out of reach of children.
