Indications for use: |
Enterobiosis, ascariasis, hookworm disease, strongyloidosis, trichocephalosis, trichinosis, teniosis, echinococcosis, alveococcosis, capillariosis, gnathostomosis, mixed helminthiasis.
Adults and children over 10 years of age with enterobiosis – at a dose of 100 mg once.
Children aged 2 to 10 years – at a dose of 25-50 mg once.
In case of a high probability of re-invasion, the reception is repeated in 2-4 weeks at the same dose.
Simultaneous treatment of all family members is recommended.
For ascariasis, trichocephalosis, hookworm disease, teniosis, strongyloidosis and mixed helminthiasis – 100 mg in the morning and evening for 3 days.
With trichinosis – 200-400 mg 3 times/day for 3 days, and from the 4th to the 10th day-400-500 mg 3 times/day.
With echinococcosis-500 mg 2 times/day for the first 3 days, then in the same dose 3 times / day for the next 3 days.
In the future, it is used in a dose of 25-30 mg / kg / day in 3-4 doses.
Severe liver function disorders, pregnancy, lactation (breastfeeding), children under 2 years of age, hypersensitivity to mebendazole.

Broad-spectrum anthelmintic; most effective for enterobiosis.
Causes irreversible disruption of glucose utilization in the helminth’s body and inhibits ATP synthesis.

From the digestive system: rarely – nausea, abdominal pain; when used in high doses for a long time, vomiting, diarrhea, and a transient increase in the activity of hepatic transaminases in the blood serum are possible.
From the central nervous system: rarely – dizziness; when used in high doses for a long time-headache.
From the hematopoietic system: when used in high doses for a long time, leukopenia, anemia, and eosinophilia are possible.

Mebendazole reduces the need for insulin in diabetic patients.
Co-administration of mebendazole with lipophilic substances should be avoided.
When used concomitantly, cimetidine may increase, and carbamazepine and other metabolic inducers may decrease, the concentration of mebendazole in the blood.
