Pharmacological Action

It increases appetite. It promotes the enhancement of gastric juice secretion and exerts laxative, sedative, spasmolytic, choleretic, and anti-inflammatory effects.

Indications

  • Chronic inflammatory conditions of the biliary tract, including chronic cholecystitis and cholangitis.
  • Gallstone disease ( cholelithiasis) and associated biliary colic.
  • Functional and motility disorders such as biliary dyskinesia, spastic colitis, and constipation.
  • Symptomatic relief of intestinal colic, gastralgia (stomach pain), and flatulence.
  • Management of symptoms following gallbladder removal ( postcholecystectomy syndrome).

Dosage Regimen

The method of application and dosage regimen for a specific drug depend on its form of release and other factors. The optimal dosage regimen is determined by the doctor. It is necessary to strictly adhere to the compliance of the dosage form of a specific drug with the indications for use and dosage regimen.

Prepare an infusion using two filter bags placed in a glass or enamel container. Pour 200 ml (one cup) of boiling water over the bags, cover, and infuse for 30 minutes.

Squeeze the filter bags thoroughly after infusion. Bring the total volume of the resulting liquid to 200 ml with boiled water. Administer orally, two-thirds of a glass twice daily, in the morning and evening.

Shake the infusion well before each use. The treatment duration is determined individually by a physician based on the clinical condition and response.

Adverse Reactions

Gastrointestinal disturbances such as heartburn and diarrhea may occur. Central nervous system effects like drowsiness are also possible.

Discontinue use and consult a healthcare professional if any adverse reactions persist or worsen. Monitor for signs of allergic reactions due to the herbal composition.

Drug Interactions

Exercise caution with concurrent use of sedative agents (CNS depressants) due to potential additive effects with the sedative components of the preparation.

The choleretic and spasmolytic actions may influence the absorption and efficacy of other concurrently administered medications. Maintain a standard interval between taking this infusion and other oral drugs.

Contraindications

  • Hypersensitivity or known allergy to any of the plant components contained in the herbal mixture.
  • The presence of an “acute abdomen” symptom complex, which requires immediate surgical evaluation and is a absolute contraindication for this treatment.
  • Use is also contraindicated in cases of intestinal obstruction and severe liver impairment where stimulation of biliary secretion could be detrimental.

Overdose

Symptoms of overdose may include a pronounced intensification of the known adverse reactions, particularly severe diarrhea, significant drowsiness, or abdominal cramping.

In case of suspected overdose, discontinue use immediately and initiate symptomatic and supportive care. There is no specific antidote; treatment should focus on managing presenting symptoms and maintaining hydration.

Herbal mixture

Place 2 filter bags into a glass or enamel bowl, pour 200 ml (1 cup) of boiling water over them, cover, and infuse for 30 minutes, then squeeze the filter bags. Bring the volume of the resulting infusion to 200 ml with boiled water. Take orally 2/3 of a glass twice a day, in the morning and in the evening. The duration of treatment is determined by the doctor. The infusion is recommended to be shaken before use.

Special Precautions

The prepared decoction should be stored for no more than 2 days in a cool place.

Storage Conditions

Store at 2°C (36°F) to 25°C (77°F). Keep in original packaging, protected from light. Keep out of reach of children.
