Pharmacological Action

A decoction of corn silk exerts a choleretic effect and possesses diuretic properties.

Indications

Chronic hepatitis, non-calculous cholecystitis, biliary dyskinesia, edematous syndrome associated with impaired renal function.

Dosage Regimen

The method of application and dosage regimen for a specific drug depend on its form of release and other factors. The optimal dosage regimen is determined by the doctor. Herbal raw material

Approximately 10 g (3 tablespoons) of corn silk is placed in a glass or enamel bowl, poured with 200 ml (1 cup) of hot boiled water, covered with a lid, and infused in a boiling water bath for 30 minutes, then cooled for 10 minutes at room temperature, strained, and the remaining raw material is squeezed out. The volume of the resulting decoction is adjusted to 200 ml with boiled water.

Take orally 1-3 tablespoons every 3-4 hours. The decoction must be shaken before use.

Adverse Reactions

Allergic reactions are possible.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to the drug, cholelithiasis, pregnancy, lactation; children under 12 years of age.

Use in Pregnancy and Lactation

Contraindicated during pregnancy and lactation.

Pediatric Use

Contraindicated in children under 12 years of age.

Overdose

Cases of overdose have not been reported to date.

Storage Conditions

In a dry place, protected from light. The prepared decoction – in a cool place for no more than 2 days. Keep out of reach of children.

Shelf Life

The shelf life is 3 years. Do not use after the expiration date printed on the packaging.
