Dosage Regimen

The method of application and dosage regimen for a specific drug depend on its form of release and other factors. The optimal dosage regimen is determined by the doctor. It is necessary to strictly adhere to the compliance of the dosage form of a specific drug with the indications for use and dosage regimen.

Take orally with meals to improve absorption. For adults and children over 14 years of age, the dosage is 2 tablets twice daily, providing a total daily intake of 200 mg of calcium and 200 IU of vitamin D3.

Do not exceed the recommended daily dose. Swallow the tablets whole with a full glass of water. The duration of use is not specified; seek advice from a healthcare professional for long-term administration.

Adverse Reactions

Adverse reactions are uncommon and typically mild. Monitor for gastrointestinal disturbances such as constipation, flatulence, nausea, or abdominal pain.

Discontinue use immediately and consult a physician if any signs of an allergic reaction occur, including rash, pruritus, urticaria, or swelling. Hypercalcemia and hypercalciuria are potential risks with excessive intake.

Drug Interactions

Calcium can decrease the absorption of several medications. Take this product at least 2 hours before or 4 hours after taking tetracycline or quinolone antibiotics, bisphosphonates, levothyroxine, or iron supplements.

Exercise caution with thiazide diuretics due to an increased risk of hypercalcemia. Vitamin D can potentiate the effects of cardiac glycosides; monitor for signs of digitalis toxicity. Consult a healthcare provider for a comprehensive interaction assessment.

Contraindications

Do not use under the following conditions.

  • Do not use in cases of known hypersensitivity or individual intolerance to any component of the product, including amaranth, calcium carbonate, calcium complexone, or vitamin D3.
  • Do not use in conditions associated with hypercalcemia, such as hyperparathyroidism, bone metastases, or sarcoidosis.
  • Do not use in patients with severe renal impairment or a history of nephrolithiasis.

Overdose

In case of accidental ingestion of a significantly large quantity, seek immediate medical attention or contact a Poison Control Center. Symptoms of overdose are primarily related to hypercalcemia and may include nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, constipation, abdominal pain, muscle weakness, confusion, and polyuria.

Chronic overdose leads to vascular and tissue calcification. Provide supportive care and discontinue the product. Specific treatment for hypercalcemia may be required.
